Who What Why Test For Real Estate Websites

Want to make your real estate web site better? Put your site to the who, what and why test. Look at your web site like it was someone else's site, be brutally honest. Use who, what and why to shape up your site.

Who is going to visit your site? The best looking site in the world does no good if it is not targeted toward the people who visit. Remember your site is not about me it is about you. Build your site around the "you"- your visitors not the "me"- the agent.

What is each word, link, form or picture trying to accomplish? Having pictures or clip art on your site just because you can, is not a good reason. Everyone else has it is not a good reason either. Make sure everything you have on your site can pass the what test. My guess is after testing for what is being accomplished, some elements will be gone and you will start to get some good ideas what would make up a first class real estate web site. A couple of questions to ask- What do my visitors want or need? What would be of value to them?

Why will this work is the last question you want to address. The answers to why questions should be, it is a convenience, it is information they will find valuable, it solves a problem they have, it is a benefit for them or it will be interesting. If there is no good reason to have something on your site, get rid of it.

You only have a short time entice visitors to stay on your real estate web site. Make sure you make every element of your site can pass the who, what and why test. If every word passes the test, your visitors can't help but spend some time on your site. Sites passing the test of these three simple words can lead to some big results.
