Stay Away from Bad Companions

Growing up I attended Catholic Schools. I have mixed feelings about the experience. One thing that was embedded into my brain was the phrase "stay away from bad companions." You are probably wondering what that has to do with real estate marketing.

Currently across the country real estate has slowed down. This is a time of opportunity and challenge for agents. Lots of agents are making a lot less money and are developing bad attitudes. Bad attitudes can become infectious. People with bad attitudes become BAD COMPANIONS.

If you are going to be successful in today's real estate market, I think it is very important to have a good attitude. You have to look for real estate marketing opportunities. They are there if you look. Don't be dragged down by the "nothing is working" agent. I bet if you asked around there are agents in your office having their best year. Hang with them.

It may make you feel better temporarily to find out you are not alone struggling to make a living and to commiserate with others in the same situation. What will really make you feel better is some success. You have a choice, hang with positive people.

Look for opportunities in your market. Refocus your real estate marketing to take advantage of those opportunities. The agents having success now have figured it out. Hang out with them and learn it may rub off on you.

So the next time you are tempted to join the pity party with BAD COMPANIONS, picture Sister Mary standing up in front of the classroom telling the class to avoid BAD COMPANIONS. She was right! Go out and be positive and find opportunities for your real estate marketing.
