Passion A Missing Ingredient in Real Estate Marketing

If you look around at people you admire in real estate as well as just about anything else, I bet one of the few common ingredients those people share will be passion. People who are passionate about what they do achieve amazing results. People are drawn to them. Top real estate agents are passionate about what they do.

Passion is defined as a powerful emotion, such as love, joy, hatred, or anger. Synonyms include  fervor, fire, zeal, ardor. These nouns all denote powerful, intense emotion. What does this have to do with real estate marketing success?

Several thing come to mind. Your passion will come across in your dealings with sellers. It is hard to say no to someone who is passionate about what they do. Sellers are usually passionate about where they live. "My house is the best." They are looking for a representative who shares their belief, their zeal. Sellers can't help but want someone who is a passionate about their home, in charge of their real estate marketing efforts.

In advertising properties, rather than the laundry list of features we usually see, convey the feelings that the new owners will have if they buy it. (Benefits rather than features) Get the prospects excited about the prospects of owning. Paint a picture that engages the buyer don't give them a list of "stuff" it has.

Just as you are drawn to passionate people, buyers are drawn to agents who are passionate about what they do. If you are so excited about what you do, there must be something to it. Owning real estate is just not good, it's fabulous. Let your passion for what you do come through. All of a sudden you will see that buyers become drawn to you.

If you are passionate about your real estate career, you will be able to handle the set backs that are unavoidable in real estate. Other agents often look at the top agents and think that they always get the listing, make the sale or never have a bad day. Not true. What the top agents do is have a passion for what they do which helps them move on past those set backs.

I've often said that real estate sales is a bad job but a great career. Are you passionate about your career? If so, let it show. Make sure that your real estate marketing conveys the passion that you have.
