24 Commandments For Real Estate Marketing- Part 2

Actually there are 24 commandments at least but that seemed too many for one article so this is part two. The better agents I had seemed to have a much better grasp of the commandments than those who failed to make it to the real estate promised land. These commandments are general but apply them to your real estate marketing also. So here they are again, in no particular order.

Commandment 1- Have a plan. Not only do you need a plan, but you need to follow your plan. The plan should be for you and you must believe in that plan.

Commandment 2- Use your strengths or whatever others believe to be your strengths. You may have gotten into real estate because you absolutely hated what you were doing in your previous career, now is the time to make that past life payoff especially if you did or learned something that the public values.

Commandment 3- Talk to people. This commandment could be called the phone works two ways. Find a reason to call people, you never know what good can come from a simple conversation. If they aren't calling in, you call out.

Commandment 4- If you stutter, don't use words that start with s. Find a different way to say or do things. If something is hard or uncomfortable for you, do something you are comfortable with. There are lots of ways to prospect, find the one that works for you.

Commandment 5- Don't lie, cheat or steal. This one is pretty obvious. Don't take advantage of your clients or tell them something that is not quite true to make a sale. It will come back to get you. This commandment could also apply to getting along with your fellow agents. There will always be another lead or customer.

Commandment 6- Make mistakes. It is OK to make mistakes. Try to make them just once. You are not ever going to know everything. You may get lost once in awhile. Just don't make the biggest mistake of all-doing nothing.

Commandment 7- Know what your company offers. Your clients are interested in all the benefits you can offer. Don't lose a sale because you didn't know or understand the benefits of company programs.

Commandment 8- Get people involved in your business. Ask for advice and help from your clients, friends and co-workers. You may learn something and you will definitely have more people invested in the outcome of your business.

Study the eight commandments. You don't have to memorize them, just live by the concepts. Look at everything that leads to real estate success and look at it when you put together your real estate marketing plan.

Part 1, Part 3 will have 8 more commandments to help you find real estate abundance.
